God has designs on us for glorious living!
God is Creator
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1
You were created by God and in His image
For You formed my innermost parts; You knit me (together) in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks and praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are You works, and my soul knows it very well. Psalm 139:13-14
Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them;male and female he created them. Genesis 1:26-27
Sin separated us from God
Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”
The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden,3 but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’”
“You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves. Genesis 3:1-3
For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Christ the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:6
For God so loved the world He gave His only Son
For God so (greatly) loved and dearly prized the world, that He (even) gave His (One and) only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him (as Savior) shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16
But God clearly shows and proves His own love for us, by the fact that we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God (that is, His remarkable, overwhelming gift of grace to believers) is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23
We must trust and surrender to Jesus as Lord
If you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord (recognizing His power, authority and majesty as God), and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart a person believes (in Christ as Savior) resulting in is justification (that is, being made acceptable to God); and with your mouth you acknowledge and confess (his/her faith openly), resulting in and confirming (his or her) salvation. Romans 10:9-10
For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13
Prayer for Salvation
I come to You in the Name of Jesus. I know that I have fallen short of your glory and that my sins have separated me from you. I ask You to forgive me of all my sins. The Bible says if I confess with my mouth that “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead, I will be saved (Rom. 10:9). I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to guide me in all that you have for me, for the rest of my life.
In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
